Denver Website & Brand DEsigners Create New Squarespace Site for California Therapist
Rusty Halo Came to Agave Studio For a Squarespace website to facilitate an easier experience for their clients
Running your own business is tough! Trust us, we know. Luckily the Squarespace designers and developers at Denver-based Squarespace agency Agave Studio have been through a few rodeos to help small business owners out. Our good friend Steph, who we created a website for previously, came back to us with a new challenge: brand (no pun intended) and create a website for her private therapy practice in California. No problem!
The Project Brief
Steph had already worked with us with her nonprofit Rusty Halo Foundation, and what a big compliment it was that she came back to us for another website plus a brand identity for her new private practice. The new brand and website needed to be along the same lines as the Foundation’s website and brand (brand designed by our other good friend Lauren Hera), and they would share a name, but different enough that they wouldn’t be confused with each other. Steph wanted the new brand to retain the “ranch” feel that the Foundation brand has, but be a bit elevated. The new logo also needed to be transferrable to use cases such as polos for staff and client paperwork.
The brand and website designers at Agave were more than up for the challenge, and we got started right away on three concepts to take the brand forward.
The Process
The expert designers and developers at Agave Studio got right to work on creating a few brand options for Steph to review for her new practice. We usually like to do two options that are along the lines of what the client wants, and then one “wild card” that is a little out there. Steph ended up choosing one of the “safer” options, but it’s still a fantastic brand that represents the ranch.
After nailing down the brand, the Squarespace designers got started on the site. Using some of our free stock photo resources, the team at Agave found a really dramatic hero image from the home page. This really set the tone for the rest of the website and the result is something that will continue to serve the practice for years to come.

Some Website Extras
Rusty Halo has opted to continue on as an ongoing client with Agave since we launched their site last year. This has given us a great opportunity to bring some additional functionalities to the website such as Acuity Scheduling and a Squarespace Member Area as a client portal. As we mentioned at the beginning of this post, running a small business owner is tough, and Rusty Halo had some specific needs for their clients. Agave was able to set up Acuity Scheduling in a way that helped facilitate appointment booking for the practice. We also created a client portal using the built-in Squarespace member areas to provide a more tailored experience for clients to book their appointments and view resources.
