Denver Website Designers at Agave Studio Create A New Squarespace site for a Contemporary Fiction Author
Squarespace is the perfect website platform for authors and our project for P.M. Vance to showcase her new novel is one of the best case studies. We recently completed another website project for an author here in Colorado, and the Squarespace website designers were excited to jump back in to another novelist’s website. P.M. came to us already with a Squarespace site that she valiantly built herself, and honestly we were quite impressed! The site was in need of a little bit of polishing and we consulted on some Squarespace best practices to finish everything off. The Website brief
P.M. wanted her new site to be polished and professional while also reflecting her colorful personality and writing style. In the website design world, a lot of clients want a minimal site with little color. So we were absolutely ecstatic that P.M. wanted to work with some color and exciting images.
the design Process
With the website structure already laid out, the Squarespace experts at Agave Studio got to work updating the site to our best practice standards. We added splashes of color throughout the site based on an image P.M sent over that she loved, which included pink, purple, teal blue, and a golden yellow. We also chose a fun yet readable font for the site that complimented the fun colors on the Squarespace site.
The Result
The Squarespace website design result is a fun and inspiring website to showcase P.M.’s writing. The site is colorful and playful to contrast the graffiti images that P.M. provided us to bring through some of the grit that is in her upcoming novel being set in Berlin. It was important to us to make the site easy for users to navigate alongside being exciting to look at. Primary and secondary buttons direct users to pre-order the book or learn more about the contemporary fiction author at the click of a button. The Squarespace site is eye-catching and makes it easy for readers to learn about P.M. and her work.
post-launch
After launching the site, P.M. asked if we’d help her out with one of our maintenance packages moving forward. During the maintenance plan period, we’ve made multiple updates to the site including the addition of the novelist’s new novel’s cover reveal and adding links to pre-order ! We also helped P.M. with her email campaigns to announce updates on her writing process and updates on her novel release.
