Mid-Century Inspired Website Design for fort Collins Photographer

Check out how Agave Studio designed a gorgeous site with a great portfolio for this Colorado photographer

First off, can we just say how much we love everything mid-century at Agave Studio? That might be apparent in our logo and other materials, but wow! When Lindsey from Peach Street Photo Co. came to us looking for a mid-century-inspired website we were chomping at the bit to get started for her. Everything from the leaflet buttons, to the typeface and colors were chosen specifically chosen to give off that retro/space-age vibe that can’t be mistaken. We’re so excited to share this site with you all.

The Brief

Lindsey came to us with a site that was built in Squarespace 7.0 for her company, Peach Street Photo Co. There wasn’t anything that was necessarily wrong with the site, but it needed some upgrades to the design and Lindsey felt her style and business both had outgrown it. That happens all the time! The Squarespace website designers at Agave Studio knew this would be the perfect opportunity to upgrade the website from Squarespace 7.0 to Squarespace 7.1 and take advantage of all the new design tools offered in the new version. Lindsey was looking for a new site that kind of had a funky/retro vibe and loved what we did here with the Agave site. So, we were pretty familiar with the request.

The Process

After getting the low-down from the client on what they wanted for the site, the expert Squarespace designers and developers at Agave Studio got to work building the new site. Upgrading to Squarespace 7.1 requires starting from scratch, which sometimes is not a bad thing! We brought all of Lindsey’s content over with a few updates to the copy and set her up with one of the new Squarespace portfolio pages to show off her work. We definitely recommend checking it out if you’re a photographer or creative. It’s really a great way to show off a photography portfolio and segment your work into specific galleries! Agave Studio also designed new business cards and marketing flyers for Peach Street. You can see those below!

The Result

The result is a beautiful, mid-century-inspired design for an amazing photographer here in Colorado. The site is easy to navigate and matches Lindsey’s request for a refreshed design that is a bit funky. The designers at Agave Studio went for a display typeface that is easy to read, but instills a bit of that space age vibe that is central to Peach Street’s brand. The portfolio showcases Lindsey’s work in an easy-to-navigate way by using the new Squarespace portfolio pages to segment her work into different categories. Once you click in, a gorgeous gallery wall greets you with featured photoshoots at the top to continue the journey into the portfolio.
